CNC press fit of shock absorber bushings

The equipment fits the rubber and metallic bushing, into the shock absorber eyes (even if the shock configuration is eye/eye or eye/pin).

Its versatility let it make these operations in almost all shock absorbers, from lengths of 204mm to 945mm, from 29 to 75mm diameter eyes holes, and until 90mm shock body diameter.

The machine does not need a special configuration for working with eye/eye shocks or eye/pin shocks.

It just needs a quick set up among different groups of shocks measures. It takes between 8 and 10 minutes by each group, this time is fast, because almost all the rest of the set up is automatically done by 6 servomotors.

Each of this 6 servomotor works with Rexroth precision ball screw assemblies to press fit the bushings. All is commanded by an ad-hoc PLC system with a touch screen HDMI panel. By this panel the operator selects the shock model and the machine automatically makes the indicated set up.

The PLC allows the operator to create new models set up for the new shocks the factory includes in its line up of products.

The machine operation requires of two, one for loading the shocks and the other to unload them from the machine, they also load the components to assemble (bushings). This operations are able to be robotically done.

Regarding the eye-eye shock model for instance with separated assembly of the rubber and metallic bushings in both eyes, two person can make 20.000 components in 9 hours, over 5.000 shocks on 10 different groups of 500 shocks as a sample

The operator takes both shocks from a production line that for example comes from the painting process and puts them into this machine beds. He does not take care about the shock length or the eye diameter, the machine accepts any large and diameter individually without any configuration at all.

Also, this machine has position and presence sensors to detect if some shock bed is empty or some shock part for assembly is missing.

The installation is a low maintenance type because all movements are over balls bearings.

Installation safety rules are under rigorous specification to take care human and equipment integrity.

It is an equipment built with top high quality components: the servo motor, the precision ball screw assemblies and all the linear bushings and shafts are Bosch / Rexroth, the bearings are SKF. The electronic components are Siemens and Festo pneumatics are the main brands of their components.
